Alpha IVF a step closer to set up IVF centre in Indonesia
KUALA LUMPUR: Alpha IVF Group Bhd has taken a major step towards establishing a full-fledged in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) centre in Bali, Indonesia.
This is after its subsidiary signed a land lease agreement with PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN), a government-owned hospitality entity.
In a statement, Alpha IVF said the agreement secures a 6,343-square-metre parcel of land in the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where PT Alpha IVF Dan SPOG Bali will build and operate a specialist healthcare facility.
“The centre will provide fertility treatment alongside obstetrics, gynaecology, and women’s health services,”
SEZ Sanur is Indonesia’s first government-backed medical and wellness tourism hub, which selectively admits only world-class providers through a competitive process.
Alpha IV said SEZ participation grants robust fiscal incentives, including corporate income tax benefits, investment allowances, tax holidays, exemptions on import duties and Value-Added Tax (VAT) for eligible medical equipment, and streamlined approvals for foreign medical professionals.

“These incentives will support the company’s efforts to contribute to Bali’s medical and wellness tourism development, ultimately providing greater access to quality healthcare for Indonesians,” it said.
Alpha IVF managing director Datuk Dr Colin Lee Soon Soo said Indonesia’s growing demand for fertility and women’s health services presents both an opportunity and a responsibility.
“Our facility will complement Bali’s wellness tourism development, creating a centre that is both medically advanced and welcoming to patients from across the region, while also leveraging potential tax incentives,” he said.
The lease has an initial term of 30 years with options for extension, while construction of the facility will commence following fulfilment of the necessary conditions precedent.
Commercial operations are expected within 20 months of the effective date of the lease.
