He earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He took his Residency Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility both at the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH).

By way of attachment to Professor PC Wong, he obtained a Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) at the National University Hospital, National University of Singapore. He also had further training in Indira IVF, Udaipur India where he was awarded a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced ART. He also holds a Master’s Degree in the Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology (with Merit) from the Instituto Valenciano Infertilidad (IVI), University of Valencia, Spain. He was a recipient of two Merck Foundation Scholarships for his training in India and his Master’s from IVI.

Dr Torres is both an awarded academician and practicing clinician for 20 years. He is an Associate Professor 2 and Senior Consultant at the Department of OBGYN, Far Eastern University (FEU-NRMF) School of Medicine and is the research coordinator for its clinical fellowship in Reproductive Medicine. He is also a Medical Specialist II and Section Chief, Section of Reproductive Medicine, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Menopause at the Department of OBGYN, Veterans Memorial Medical Center. Currently he is the Secretary of the Philippine Board of Reproductive Medicine and is a sitting member of both the ART Regulatory Board of the Philippine Society for Reproductive Medicine (PSRM) and the editorial board of the Philippine Journal of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (PJREI). He is also an international reviewer for the Fertility and Reproduction Journal. He is the Immediate Past President of PSRM and Country/ Philippine Representative to the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE).

A well-rounded person, he is an Ironman finisher (IM Barcelona) with several half IM and olympic distances under his belt. He is a founding member of and regularly trains with T12 Team Megawide Triathlon. He previously sang with the acclaimed choral group Novo Concertante Manila and was part of the batch that won first prizes in Spain and Austria during its first European Concert Tour and competition.
